Tell us about who is in your family.

  • Cody (my husband), Emmy (5 month old daughter) and Letti (7 year old dog)

Where is your hometown? What town do you live in now?

  • I grew up in Oak Lawn, IL. In 2016 I moved to Minnesota for grad school, traveled the US for the past 2 years, then came back to Illinois when we found out we were expecting, to be closer to my family. We are now living in Downers Grove, IL.

What is/was your career?

  • I am an occupational therapist. I have worked in many settings with all age ranges, but pediatrics is where my heart is

How long have you been with FIT4MOM East DuPage West Cook, and what has it done for you?

  • I stumbled upon FIT4MOM on a Downers Grove Facebook page and joined when I was 6 weeks postpartum.

I absolutely love being able to move my body while also socializing with other moms. It makes me happy that FIT4MOM gives me the opportunity to show my daughter the importance of taking care of your mental and physical health.

What is your favorite part about class?

  • All the classes are a “just right” challenge for me, while giving me the option to push myself when I’m ready. I love that it feels like a family; I have watched their kids grow and develop throughout the months and they have seen my daughter do the same.

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

  • I am surprised by how fast time goes. Everyone warns you about it flying by, but actually living it is very different and real. I wish time would slow down!

What are three of your favorite things?

  • My family, Oreos, and fall

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

  • My proudest mommy moment is the happiness I see on her face every time she wakes up in the morning.

What advice would you give to a new mother?

  • Give yourself grace. Motherhood is no walk in the park. Every journey is different. Find your village and stick with them; support gets you through all the highs and lows of motherhood. And trust your gut - you know your baby best!
